David Myles earned a leading five East Coast Music Awards nominations for Entertainer, FACTOR Recording (Turn Time Off), Folk Recording (Turn Time Off), Male Solo Recording (Turn Time Off) and Single (Need a Break) of the Year. The awards will be handed out during East Coast Music Week in Charlottetown, PE from April 13-17, 2011.
Before taking in the ECMA celebrations, Myles is taking to the road with Stuart McLean for his CBC Radio program The Vinyl Café. The tour will see Myles performing 15 dates in Maine and the Maritimes beginning February 24, 2011.

At the top of Canadian hip-hop is Shad, nominated for Rap Recording of the Year with his latest release TSOL. Pacifika’s world fusion album Supermagique has been nominated for World Music Album of The Year and Royal Wood nominated for Songwriter of the Year for songs from his 2010 release The Waiting.

On their first two LPs, Montreal’s Young Galaxy won over fans with their epic choruses and cinematic guitar rock. When recording their third album, Shapeshifting, they decided to shake things up. They recruited Dan Lissvik of the experimental Swedish duo Studio to produce, scaling back their stadium-sized rock-outs in favour of chilly synths and slinky grooves.
