January 28th, 2014

On their third studio album ‘Restoring Force’ Of Mice & Men look to do just that: restore the band as a massive force in a scene they’ve thrived in for years. Frontman Austin Carlile delivers his most brutal and honest performance to date, with new-addition Aaron Pauley shining as clean singer. The metalcore band heads out in February touring the world in support of the record straight through July, see full dates here. Periphery have used their unique talents to craft the ‘Clear’ album exactly how each member wanted. Each of the members were given creative control over one track, which all come together on the opener ‘Overture’. Stream the full record now via Distort Entertainment’s YouTube. UK producer Bibio follows up last year’s ‘Silver Wilkinson’ LP with ‘The Green EP’. The Warp Records release takes LP track ‘Dye The Water Green’ – his favourite off the album – to spin-off along with music from his archives that complement the track well. Watch the self-directed/edited video for ‘Dye The Water Green’ here.

Breton Shares New Track ‘S Four’ & Canadian Dates Slated For May

January 24th, 2014

Breton War Room Stories

Breton will release their much anticipated second album ‘War Room Stories’ on Believe Recordings/Fontana North on February 4, 2014.

The album was written during a year spent touring incessantly and playing festivals across the world. It was recorded this summer at the Funkhaus in Berlin – a building with the same otherworldly weirdness as Breton’s beloved creative HQ, The Lab, which was demolished last summer to make way for luxury flats.

Located in the highly industrial, distinctly un-hipster Mitte district of the city, Funkhaus Studios used to house 3,000 communist workers who would write and broadcast propaganda in the form of news and drama to the entire Eastern Bloc and is fitted with all the trappings of the former sound effects studio – a fact that proved perfect for Breton’s innate inquisitiveness.

BIBIO Shares New Track ‘Down To The Sound’ & Video For ‘Dye The Water Green’

January 23rd, 2014

‘The Green EP’ out Jan. 28 on Warp Records via Fontana North

Bibio (Stephen Wilkinson):
“[Director] Michael [Robinson] and I started a dialogue about working on this video back in 2012, way before I even shared the track with him. It was all about sharing keywords back then – vague, murky, impressionistic, lonely, tunnels, longing… The song has always been very visual for me, always revisiting the same imaginary places when I hear it. This is one of the reasons that it’s my favourite track off the album; I like to wander in my mind and music is a trigger for that. For this video we relied more on 30+ year old tube video cameras as opposed to film, choosing them for their vague pastel-like quality.

patten Full-Length Debut ‘ESTOILE NAIANT’ Set for February 25th Release

January 14th, 2014

patten

On February 25th, Warp Records/Fontana North will release ‘ESTOILE NAIANT,‘ the new album from visionary musician and producer patten.  This LP forms a key turning point in patten’s catalogue, connecting the dots between early self-released CDRs of delicately interlocking instrumentals, with the highly textured and detailed beat-led compositions explored on 2013′s surprise ‘EOLIAN INSTATE’ EP.  The new full-length sees him step out of the shadows and into full focus, melding the avant garde with a sympathy for the everyday language of the radio or the club. This clarity of approach and distinctive melodic and rhythmic sensibility sees a psychedelically-tinged pop characteristic shine through his unique forward-thinking sonics.

‘Give The People What They Want’ To Be Released January 14, 2014

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are pleased to share the video with you for the single ‘Stranger to My Happiness’ directed by Rob Hatch-Miller and Paloma Basu of Production Company Productions. The clip finds the band cast as the wedding band, having fun at the end of the night after everyone else has gone. The festive performance captures Sharon Jones at a specific time in November, strutting a look that clearly illustrates a side of effect of her chemotherapy treatments. Miss Jones made a conscious decision that day, as she recalls: “Not wearing a wig and just being bald was an easy decision for me. I’ve always been me, and that’s not going to change now.”
