MTT Release ‘Years From Now’ LP – Announce Canadian Dates In May Including CMW Showcases

April 24th, 2014

Having cut their teeth on 80′s new wave and 90′s pop, MTT has chosen to add deep bass and minimal drums for a more contemporary sound for their sophomore album ‘Years From Now.

This intensely personal and atmospheric album takes a bold step forward both musically and lyrically. A period that saw the birth of a daughter adds a new perspective: introspective, at times a melancholic interpretation. The impassioned and successful attempt at mixing the 80′s sound with a more contemporary one, crown the collaboration between singer Anne Broekman, producer Maarten Besseling and drummer Jos Terlingen. The result is a neatly arranged interplay between deep bass and alienating sounds which place MTT squarely amongst one of the most refreshing Dutch acts today.

ENO • HYDE Stream ‘Daddy’s Car’ – First Single From ‘Someday World’ LP Out May 6

April 7th, 2014

eno x hyde photo

Brian Eno and Karl Hyde come together with a new album, ‘Someday World,’ to be released May 6, 2014 on Warp Records/Fontana North. Now we are delighted to reveal the first single, ‘Daddy’s Car.’ This is the second song to be heard from this new collaboration and follows album opener ‘The Satellites.’

‘Someday World’ is an album born from years of experimental beginnings, and polyrhythmic musical textures re-contextualised and brought together in one month-long session in late 2013. In contrast to the midi-horns-driven krautrock of ‘The Satellites,’ ‘Daddy’s Car,’ betrays the duo’s love of Steve Reich and cyclical Afrobeat, maintaining the strong sense of melody and structure through Hyde’s lead vocal.
